Cockroaches
Our most common pest. Found in kitchens, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Brown in color, ½ inch long with dark stripe running lengthwise of the body. Usually hiding in cracks or crevices during daylight, the German roach comes out at night and feed on almost anything. Egg to adult takes about 2 months. A female can produce 20 to 40 young every 5 or 6 weeks and they can live anywhere from 6 months to a year. Disease-producing organisms such as bacteria, protozoans, and viruses have been found on cockroach bodies such as salmonella.
